Dear Brasheet,

We are grateful to our gracious God for bringing you to our church and
for the gifts he has blessed you so that His name would be glorified.
We pray that you will be the salt & light among our people so that they will see the way and the truth of Jesus Christ and his message of salvation would reach the thirsty souls.

Presbyterians and Brasheet Break New Ground in Philadelphia ~ March 4 - 6, 2005

With the coming of Brasheet, our missions conference became a multi ministry mission that brought encouragement to Iranian believers from Connecticut to Maryland and contacted a number of Iranians in our area, which we pray may continue in a local Persian ministry. The Gospel was presented in Persian, to many that came to join with us, and video recordings were made of all the Persian language events for satellite programming that is regularly viewed by millions in Iran. Our people delighted to be hosts even though we do not know Persian. The Rev. Tat Stewart teamed up with Brasheet to preach the Gospel in Persian at the Friday night concert. A number of hearts were moved by the Holy Spirit and several were given copies of the Scriptures in Persian in response to their expressing a desire to learn more about Christ’s gift of salvation.

Saturday, saw the men gather for breakfast and hear Tat Stewart tell how many Iranian Muslims are coming to Christ. It used to be that it took ten years to win one Muslim to Christ. Now, according to Tat, ten Muslims are being won to the Lord every minute. Iranian Christian students who share the Gospel with their peers inform Tat that if the Gospel is clearly presented to seven students, four of them will pray to receive Christ on the spot! All that afternoon over thirty Iranians stayed for "Kesheesh" Tat's Persian language seminar on issues of the Christian life.

On Sunday morning, the Rev. Tat Stewart preached both English services, reminding us that God is passionate about missions and desires us to share in His passion for the lost. He noted that everything begins with the human heart when it is changed by God. Are we passionate about things that really matter? Our own people were deeply moved by the presence of the Lord as seen in our Iranian friends who testified in our adult class and have such an obvious hunger for God. We were aware that God was at work. We will never forget this wonderful weekend.

The conference concluded with a delightful Persian lunch hosted by Helen Moshgani of the Aromatic House of Kabob, an authentic Persian restaurant in Philadelphia. Many of our number have commented how they enjoyed and been deeply moved by the spiritual enthusiasm and joy we shared with our Iranian brothers and sisters and with those who are still learning about the Good News of Jesus Christ. We saw God at work and we praise His Holy Name.

Iranian Christian Inter-Church Conference Update

In one word, it was a BLESSING. As this annual retreat organized by the Iranian Christian International was our first co-operation with ICI. We arrived at the conference center not knowing what to expect. After unloading a van full of equipment we were ready for what we thought God had brought us there for, LEADING THE CONGRIGATION IN WORSHIP.

Shortly after we started our first worship service that night, we knew it was not we leading but the Holy Spirit himself. After all, how can we present God an acceptable worship if the Sprit of God himself does not lead it? (John 4:24 NIV) God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." It was clear that God had a plan for that retreat. We knew God had answered our prayers.

As we were preparing for the first service we looked at the number of people who had arrived for this late night service and decided to turn down our amps. Boy were we ever wrong. It was after the first song that we realized it is not the number but the heart of those who want to worship God that matters to him. We turn our amps up after the first song!

God is working among Iranians in a way that we have not seen in many years. There is this tremendous thirst for his presence, thirst for worshiping him. One that I have not seen among many nations. Indeed God was in action. Although we had many opportunities throughout the day to worship him, the thirst was far greater. There were many who continued worshiping him through late hours of night and early hours of the next morning, and they still made it for breakfast at 8am each morning.

Maybe there are many of us who have not tasted a moment when you find yourself in the arms of God. Maybe, we have read about the peace that God has promised but we are yet to taste a bid of that peace. But I believe as we come to worship him with all that we are, we gradually notice his presence. And it is not as if He was not there before, it is just that we were too busy with our stuff and we never noticed him. In worship we notice God!

In this battle called life, we have surrendered either to God or the World. To whom have you raised your hand in surrender? We have surrendered all to Him in worship and prayer. (John 4:23 NIV) Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
